TikTok asked a federal appeals court Monday to temporarily halt a law that could close down the app in the United States next month so the Supreme Court can review the matter.
[ . . . ]Jeff Kosseff, senior fellow at The Future of Free Speech, a think tank at Vanderbilt University, said the platform should be allowed to continue to operate while the Supreme Court reviews the lower court’s “dangerous and misguided decision.” The case could have vast ramifications well beyond TikTok’s status, Kosseff said, determining “how much control the government has over online speech for decades to come.”
